{"wiki":"en","slug":"guide-ip-phonebook","markdown":"# Using the Phone Book of a Behnke Indoor Station\n\nThe phone book of a Behnke indoor station shows the outdoor stations that are assigned to the indoor station within the IP intercom system.\n\nOutdoor stations in the same intercom group are detected automatically and shown in the indoor station's phone book. Creating these Behnke outdoor stations manually is normally not necessary.\n\nVia the displayed outdoor stations, you can, among other things, establish connections, open a video preview and (if configured accordingly) open the access.\n\n\n<!-- block: aussenstationen-im-telefonbuch -->\n## 1. Outdoor stations in the phone book\n\nIf the outdoor station and the indoor station are in the same intercom group, the detected outdoor station is automatically shown on the indoor station.\n\nExample:\n\n```text\nSprechanlagengruppe 1\n\nAußenstation Eingang\n |\n v\nInnenstation Empfang\n```\n\nThe outdoor station `Eingang` automatically appears in the phone book of the indoor station `Empfang`.\n\n![Indoor station, phone book with one entry](uploads/95b4def1a95c0665fbd584157f23206a/grafik.png)\n\n> [!NOTE]\n> Which outdoor stations are shown automatically depends in particular on the intercom group.\n>\n> If an expected outdoor station is not shown, you should therefore check the group assignment first.\n\n<!-- block: aussenstation-auswaehlen -->\n## 2. Selecting an outdoor station\n\nOn the indoor station, select the desired outdoor station.\n\nThe currently selected station is highlighted on the display.\n\n![Indoor station, phone book with one entry (Eingang selected)](uploads/95b4def1a95c0665fbd584157f23206a/grafik.png)\n\nDepending on the available equipment and configuration, different functions are then available.\n\n<!-- block: aussenstation-anrufen -->\n## 3. Calling an outdoor station\n\nA connection to the selected outdoor station can be established via the indoor station.\n\nSelect the desired outdoor station and start the call.\n\n![Indoor station, start call](uploads/80656513b903c0027b667a0334833173/grafik.png)\n\nThe indoor station then establishes a direct connection to the outdoor station.\n\n<!-- block: vorschau-einer-aussenstation-oeffnen -->\n## 4. Opening a preview of an outdoor station\n\nIf the outdoor station has a camera, a preview can be opened via the indoor station.\n\n![Indoor station, open preview](uploads/5b0dac025aab8838963130faf083c212/grafik.png)\n\nVia the preview, functions such as the following may be available (depending on the configuration):\n\n- Show video\n- Establish connection\n- Open access\n\n<!-- block: zugang-oeffnen -->\n## 5. Opening the access\n\nIf a door opener is set up at the outdoor station, the access can be opened via the indoor station.\n\nThe exact function depends on the configuration of the door opener and the outdoor station.\n\n<!-- block: aussenstation-nach-anfangsbuchstaben-suchen -->\n## 6. Searching for an outdoor station by initial letter\n\nWith several outdoor stations, you can use the search by initial letter.\n\nThe search function shows the initial letters that are present.\n\nAfter you select a letter, only the matching entries are shown.\n\nThis lets you find a particular outdoor station more quickly.\n\n<!-- block: bevorzugtes-geraet-festlegen -->\n## 7. Setting a preferred device\n\nAn outdoor station can be set as the preferred device on the indoor station.\n\n![Indoor station, set preferred device](uploads/8f02eb2e5bf0a5fd482e140f3c9e390e/grafik.png)\n\nThe preferred device is used, among other things, for functions such as the automatic video preview.\n\nThe automatic video preview is described in a separate setup guide.\n\n<!-- block: warum-wird-eine-aussenstation-nicht-angezeigt -->\n## 8. Why is an outdoor station not shown?\n\nIf an outdoor station does not appear in the indoor station's phone book, check in particular:\n\n- Are the outdoor station and the indoor station in the same intercom group?\n- Are both devices switched on and reachable via the IP network?\n- Has the outdoor station been fully integrated into the IP intercom system?\n- Do the devices use the common global settings required for the IP intercom system?\n\nFor newly added Behnke stations, it may take a short time until the device is detected and shown on the indoor station.\n\n<!-- block: unterschied-zu-manuell-eingebundenen-ip-statione -->\n## 9. Difference from manually integrated IP stations\n\nBehnke outdoor stations of the current product generation are detected automatically within the IP intercom system.\n\nIn addition, so-called IP stations can also be set up manually on a Behnke indoor station, for example compatible SIP door stations or IP cameras.\n\nThese are configured separately via the web interface of the indoor station.\n\nFor more information, see the setup guide: [Setting up a third-party device as an IP station on a Behnke indoor station](Guide_IP_IPStation).\n\n<!-- block: zusammenfassung -->\n## 10. Summary\n\nThe phone book of a Behnke indoor station serves as the central selection of the assigned outdoor stations.\n\nThe following applies:\n\n- Outdoor stations in the same intercom group are detected automatically\n- Detected outdoor stations are shown automatically\n- An outdoor station can be selected and called\n- For stations with a camera, a preview can be opened\n- If configured accordingly, the access can be opened\n- With several entries, you can search by initial letter\n- An outdoor station can be set as the preferred device\n\n\n<!-- block: faq -->\n## 11.
