Configuring the Operating Mode of the Behnke Station
This setup guide describes how to configure the operating mode of the Behnke Station.
Depending on the deployment scenario, the Behnke Station can be operated in different operating modes. The available operating modes are analog telephone, SIP telephone and IP intercom system. As an analog telephone, the station is operated on an analog telephone line; as a SIP telephone, it is registered as a SIP user on an IP telephone system or used for direct SIP connections to other SIP endpoints. In the IP intercom system operating mode, the station is used as an intercom within an IP-based system together with other devices.
Note
The availability of the analog telephone operating mode depends on the hardware and is therefore not supported by all variants of the Behnke Station.
It is assumed that the Behnke-Station is already set up to the extent that access to the web interface is possible. If this is not the case, please follow the instructions provided with your base electronics (manualsThis page carries no version. 1.1 Possible Operating Modes
The Behnke Station can be operated in different operating modes (depending on the hardware variant used and the intended application).
SIP Telephone
In the SIP telephone operating mode, the Behnke Station is operated as a SIP user in an IP-based telephone network. For this purpose, the station can be registered with a SIP-capable telephone system or a SIP server.
Alternatively, direct communication with other SIP-capable endpoints is also possible via direct SIP calls, provided that no central telephone system is to be used.
Analog Telephone
In the analog telephone operating mode, the Behnke Station is operated on an analog telephone line or on an analog extension port of a telephone system.
Note
This operating mode depends on the hardware and is therefore not available for all variants of the Behnke Station. Whether analog operation is supported depends on the hardware version used.
IP Intercom System
In the IP intercom system operating mode, the Behnke Station is operated as part of an IP-based intercom system. The station communicates over the IP network with other devices or components of the system.
This operating mode is intended in particular for applications in which the Behnke Station is used within a networked intercom infrastructure.
1.2 Saving the Operating Mode
- Set the option Operating mode to the desired value
- Click to save the configuration
- The device may restart
2. Configuring Hybrid Mode
If necessary, the Behnke Station can be operated in what is known as hybrid mode. Hybrid mode allows the other operating modes to be available in addition to the main operating mode. This means, for example, that a Behnke Station can work as an analog endpoint and be registered with a SIP server at the same time.
- Click the menu item in the sidebar on the left
- Navigate to the section Basic settings
- Set the option Hybrid mode to yes

- Click to save the configuration
- The device may restart
