Assigning the call buttons of an outdoor station to indoor stations

BEHNKE-STATION version6.56current: 6.33Machine-translated

This setup guide describes how to assign the call buttons of a Behnke outdoor station to specific indoor stations.

In intercom mode, assignment is always made via the call number of a button. For indoor stations, the call number corresponds to the intercom ID, or, for calls across groups, to a combination of intercom group and ID.

1. Default assignment without additional configuration

If no individual call number is configured for a call button, the outdoor station automatically uses the number of the button as the call number.

This means the following applies in intercom mode:

Taste 1 → Innenstation(en) mit ID 1
Taste 2 → Innenstation(en) mit ID 2
Taste 3 → Innenstation(en) mit ID 3
...

Web interface menu item Buttons, intercom ID assignment

The assignment applies to indoor stations in the same intercom group.

Example:

Sprechanlagengruppe 1

Außenstation
├── Taste 1 → ID 1 → Empfang
└── Taste 2 → ID 2 → Büro

If this default assignment suits the desired setup, no additional call number needs to be entered for the call buttons.

2. Assigning a call button individually

If a button is to call a different indoor station than the one provided by the default assignment, an individual call number can be configured for the button.

To do this, open the configuration of the outdoor station.

  • Open your browser
  • Go to the web interface of the Behnke Station
  • Log in

Behnke Station – Web interface, login page

  • In the sidebar on the left, click the menu item Buttons
  • Find the desired call button (e.g. section Button 1)
  • Set the value of the Call number option to the ID of the desired indoor station
  • Click Save to save the configuration

Example:

Taste: 1
Rufnummer: 2

Button 1 thus calls the indoor station or indoor stations with ID 2 within the same intercom group.

Important

If a button is configured individually, the associated button name should also be configured to match the call destination.

3. Configuring the button name

For individually configured call buttons, it is recommended to assign an understandable name for the call destination.

Examples are:

Empfang
Büro
Anlieferung
Hausmeister

The button name makes it easier to identify the call destination, especially on outdoor stations with a display.

4. Calling several indoor stations at the same time

If several indoor stations within the same intercom group have the same intercom ID, all corresponding indoor stations are called when this ID is called.

Example:

Gruppe 1

Innenstation 1 → ID 2
Innenstation 2 → ID 2

Außenstation
Taste 2 → ID 2

When button 2 is pressed, both indoor stations with ID 2 are called at the same time.

No special multiple assignment of the button is required for this.

5. Assigning an indoor station of another intercom group

A call button can also be assigned to an indoor station of another intercom group.

A three-digit call number is used for this:

[Gruppe][zweistellige ID]

Example:

Sprechanlagengruppe: 2
Sprechanlagen-ID: 1

Rufnummer: 201

If the call number 201 is configured for a button, it calls the indoor station or indoor stations with ID 1 in intercom group 2.

6. Calling several destinations in sequence

Several call destinations can also be configured for a button as a call chain.

The individual call numbers are separated by a semicolon ;.

Example:

1;201

In this example, ID 1 of the own intercom group is called first.

If the call is not answered there, ID 1 of intercom group 2 is called next via the call number 201.

Note

Call chains are mainly useful for more complex systems. For a simple assignment of a call button to an indoor station, the intercom ID as the call number is normally sufficient.

7. Configuring the assignment via an indoor station

The individual button configuration of an outdoor station can be made via the configuration mode of a Behnke indoor station.

Proceed as follows:

  • Open the configuration mode of the indoor station.
  • Enter the administrator password.
  • Select the desired outdoor station.
  • Select the desired button.
  • Select Call number.
  • Enter the desired call number.
  • Save the configuration.

The individual assignment of the call button is now complete.

8. Checking the assignment

After saving, press the configured call button.

Check whether the desired indoor station or stations are called.

If the wrong call destination is reached, check in particular:

  • which call number is configured for the button
  • which intercom ID the desired indoor station has
  • which intercom group the devices belong to
  • whether several indoor stations use the same ID
  • whether a call chain has been configured

9. Summary

The following basic rules apply to the assignment of call buttons:

  • without a configured call number, a button dials its own button number
  • button 1 thus calls ID 1 by default, button 2 calls ID 2, and so on
  • an individual call number overrides this default assignment
  • within the same group, the intercom ID is sufficient as the call number
  • several indoor stations with the same ID are called together
  • for another intercom group, a three-digit call number is used
  • several call destinations can be linked via a call chain using ;
