Configuration guide for Genetec Sipelia™ System

1. Configuration guide

This configuration guide describes how to set up a Behnke Station as a SIP extension of an Genetec Sipelia™ PBX. We are assuming that the basic configuration of the Genetec Sipelia™ PBX has already been done, and we will only describe the steps required to register the Behnke Station with Genetec Sipelia™. We also assume that the Behnke station has already been integrated into the network and can be accessed via the IP address in a browser.

It is assumed that the Behnke-Station is already set up to the extent that access to the web interface is possible. If this is not the case, please follow the instructions provided with your base electronics (manuals) and refer to the technical manual to complete the basic setup.

1.1 Creating a user in the Genetec Sipelia™ system

Launch the "Genetec™ Security Center Config Tool" and log in with your administrator credentials. Then, in the administration area, navigate to the "Plug-Ins" option and select Sipelia™:

1._Plug-Ins_eng

Then select the "General" tab and set the SIP ports (default 5060 for unencrypted SIP) or, if desired, also activate encrypted SIP communication according to the following image (default 5061 for encrypted SIP):

2._Sipelia_eng

Finally, add an extension for the Behnke Station as a SIP subscriber and assign a name and password:

3._Intercom_hinzufügen_eng

It is also possible to assign these automatically from an existing pool:

4._Nebenstelle_konfigurieren_eng

5._Übernehmen_eng

1.2. Configuration of the Behnke-Station

  • Open your browser
  • Access the Behnke Station web interface
  • Log in

  • Navigate to the SIP Account 1 or SIP Account 2 section.
  • Set the Register option to yes

  • Use the assignments from the following table and enter the information in the corresponding input fields (in the SIP Account 1 section, if applicable SIP Account 2) of your Behnke station.

Now enter the previously generated SIP credentials from your Genetec Sipelia™ system into a SIP account on the Behnke station as follows. Select the IP address on which your Genetec Sipelia™ system is accessible as the SIP server:

FB588F00-D7E0-40EA-8E5C-1D6E8BFD73C7

Field Behnke-Station Value for Genetec Sipelia™ PBX
Phone number/user name SIP extension number
User ID SIP extension number
Password Password for SIP extension
Communication specify SIP Server
Server IP-Adress of Genetec Sipelia™ PBX
Port 5061
Transport TLS

  • Click on the menu item in the sidebar to save the configuration.
  • Navigate to the section of the key you want to configure, e.g., Key 1
  • Set the Action option to the value Call
  • Enter the phone number you want to call when the key is pressed in the input field for the Phone Number option.
  • Click on in the sidebar to save the configuration.

In our configuration example, the number entered would be 1002, under which the administrator group can be reached.

2. FAQ

If media encryption is desired, set the "Media Encryption" configuration option in your Behnke station to "SRTP" and the "Force Media Encryption" option to yes.

F2273B0E-03B7-4177-9CBC-084E5B165975

In the Genetec Sipelia system™, the media encryption would then also have to be configured in the file C:\ProgramData\Genetec Sipelia\SipSever\SipServer.config (for the default installation path) using the configuration value "SrtpMode Value="Force":

3._SRTP_Modus

Unencrypted SIP communication is also possible; to do this, change the transmission protocol in the Behnke Station to UDP or TCP and the port to 5060.

If the procedures documented here do not work:
  • Make sure the latest firmware is installed on your Behnke-Station. The latest version is 6.12 and can be downloaded here.
  • Check the notes in the manual and in the manuals.

If none of the above tips help, open a new support ticket or contact our service hotline.
