Login input fields for camera are greyed out

You want to add a camera manually but the camera cannot be configured because the username and password input fields are greyed out.

1. Solution

There are several possible solutions for this problem:

  • The camera was added manually (not found automatically) and an incorrect IP address was specified.

  • The camera was added manually (not found automatically) and an incorrect camera type was selected. The list of camera types can be found in the follwing table:

    | Camera type | Port | MAC address | | --------------------- | ---- | ----------------------------------------------------------- | | Behnke-Station Camera | 8080 | only for newer Behnke Stations with system camera, i.e. with USB camera or with an IP camera integrated as a system camera (see the web interface of the Behnke station > Network > IP camera > "integration as") | | AXIS®/B-Smart Camera | 80 | AC:CC:8E:XX:XX:XX
    00:40:8C:XX:XX:XX
    B8:A4:4F:XX:XX:XX | | Behnke IP-Camera | 80 | 00:50:C2:XX:XX:XX | | Behnke Smart-Camera | 80 | F8:1C:E5:FX:XX:XX |

  • The camera is an Axis camera. A factory reset was performed on the camera, or HTTP Basic Authentication was manually disabled on the web interface. Please check that HTTP Basic Authentication is activated on the camera's web interface. For most Axis cameras you will find the parameter under Settings > System > Advanced Configuration or Simple Configuration > Network > Network/HTTP > Authentication Policy. If necessary, change the value from "digest" to "basic".

  • No exception for IP video software has been added in Windows Firewall. You can add the exception from Control Panel > Windows Firewall > "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall". Select the IP video software and check all three boxes for "public networks", "private networks" and "domain networks".

  • A third-party antivirus software or firewall is executed on the computer. These can also prevent the IP video software from functioning correctly. Please add an exception here, if applicable. As a test, you can stop the firewall/antivirus and restart the IP video software. If the software then is working correctly, please add an exception for the software in the firewall/antivirus software.
